Children under three years of age may come to the Madison County Health Department, 206 East 9th St, Anderson, IN 46016, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. until noon to receive their flu shot as soon as the vaccine becomes available. Please call ahead at 765-646-9206.
Parents need to present a current shot record at the time of their visit. If not accompanied by a parent, a note from the parent or guardian must be sent with someone over 18 years of age accompanying the child. This clinic also accepts donations.

Every Monday in December (except 26th) at Madison Co Health Department 1pm-3pm

What is Public Health?The Madison County Health Department’s mission is to provide for and ensure the residents of Madison County an opportunity to enjoy the benefits of a healthy, disease-free life. Various divisions and programs exist within the department to address the 10 Essential Public Health Services:
- Monitor health status to identify community health problems
- Diagnose and investigate health problems and health hazards in the community
- Inform, educate, and empower people about health issues
- Mobilize community partnerships to identify and solve health problems
- Develop policies and plans that support individual and community health efforts
- Enforce laws and regulations that protect health and ensure safety
- Link people to needed personal health services and assure the provision of health care when otherwise unavailable
- Assure a competent public health and personal health care workforce
- Evaluate effectiveness, accessibility, and quality of person and population-based health services
- Research for new insights and innovative solutions to health problems
ATTENTION
The Indiana State Department of Health’s Immunization Division issued new childhood and adult eligibility policies for publicly funded vaccines. As of January 1, 2012, Madison County Health Department will be reserving vaccines for families whom either lack the ability to pay for vaccinations or lack the insurance to cover them.
